From the recording Here I Go Again

Truck and Trailer was written by Bobby Mason and Jane LaBelle Mason while traveling in their Vintage Airstream. It tells the story of their adventures over the last five years driving from California to Maine and back again.

Lyrics

With the whole world out in front of us and the Airstream close behind
It just doesn’t get any better cause I got yours and you got mine
I got a truck, you got a trailer
Everybody says “Hey we’ll see you all later”
We hope you have a wonderful time
With you’re really big truck and kind of small trailer
We’ll find some place to call home for the night
Maybe sing us a song by the campfire light
Wake up in the morning to an ocean view
Maybe we’ll stay another day or two
With the whole world out in front of us and the Airstream close behind
It just doesn’t get any better
‘Cause I got yours and you got mine
We could head on down to Mexico
Or maybe someday Idaho
There’s just no place we have to be
‘Cause I’m with you and you’re with me
With the whole world out in front of us and the Airstream close behind
It just doesn’t get any better
‘cause I got yours and you got mine
We could drive on down to the Florida Keys
Or maybe up to Maine if we please
There’s just no place I’d rather be
Than me with you and you with me
I guess that’ll we’ll ever need with our really big truck
And kind of small trailer
Hitch up that Airstream, baby!
Scat…
America, America
